IndigeNash Innovators: shaping the stories of tomorrow

  • The Forge Nashville 217 Willow Street Nashville, TN, 37210 United States (map)

A dynamic afternoon celebrating Indigenous expression in all its modern forms, IndigeNash Innovators brings together artists, writers, and creators to explore the evolving landscape of Native creativity—honoring tradition while shaping the stories of tomorrow.

The program includes the launch of a new Ojibwe language app and discussion with its creator, Tyler Long, unveiling a tool designed to preserve and share Indigenous languages in the digital age. It also marks the debut of the first edition of the IndigeNash e-zine, featuring stories, interviews, and artwork from Native creatives across disciplines.

Throughout the afternoon, panel discussions will highlight how language, storytelling, and art shape Native identity and community today—including the launch of Nashville Sites’ Indigenous Archaeological Driving Tour with a demo and discussion, and a a few more presentations to be announced soon.

The event culminates in a Writers’ Panel featuring Blake Pickens, contributors from The New Athenian for the IndigeNash e-zine, To the Moon and Back, and Jennifer Gouge, before leading into the evening’s Forge Gallery Exhibition Opening and Reception and IndigeNash Comedy Night.

This gathering honors the past while celebrating the future of Indigenous language, art, and storytelling in Middle Tennessee and beyond.
